It is shown that the inhomogeneity of the grain boundary (GB) i.e. the
effect of the distribution of different lattice sites on the heats of
interaction with species, leads to nonlinear GB penetration plots (in
Fisher's coordinates). The sign of curvature and the values of deviat
ion from a straight concentration profile depend on the interaction pa
rameters (the maximum and minimum values of the interaction heat). The
results of numerical calculations are discussed.
