Abstract
The objective of the study is to value the situation of the population on d ialysis in the aged patients. They are analyzed different parameters in 1162 patients, of theses which a 48.9% age greater of 65 years. The aged patients specify renal replacement therapy more frequently as cons equence of tubulointerstitial nephropathy and vascular nephropathy. In the smaller age patient the principal cause is the chronic allograft dysfunctio n. The aged patients was included in renal transplant waiting list in a 12. 3%. They need an average of 1.58 vascular accesses, without difference between both groups of age. The women and the patients that restar treatment after chronic allograft dy sfunction were a greater number of vascular accesses. No differences were found between both groups of age in the needs of treatm ent with ru-EPO. In the valuation of functional independence measure, is observed greater de gree of dependency in elderly patients. in a 46%.
