Optical X wave communications

This paper presents a new communication system using optical X waves which, in theory, can propagate to an infinite distance without spreading. In pra ctice, when these waves are produced with a finite aperture and energy, the y have a large depth of field. A system model using optical X waves as carr iers to transfer signals is established. The relationship between optical X wave and the conventional communication systems is studied. Simulation dem onstrating the performance of the optical X wave communication systems is p resented.
