Abstract
A finite volume scheme for the lattice Boltzmann method is developed for un structured triangular meshes in two dimensions. The accuracy of this new sc heme is demonstrated by comparing the numerical results with the exact solu tions to the Navier-Stokes equations for Taylor vortex flow, shear flow bet ween two parallel plates, shear flow between two rotating cylinders, and Po iseuille flow. The agreement between the numerical and analytical results i s very good for each of these tests.
