Abstract
The electron-phonon correlation function characterizing the shape of the Ho lstein polaron in D dimensions is computed exactly to leading order in the electron-phonon coupling constant for both isotropic and arbitrarily anisot ropic cases, allowing the width of the polaron to be characterized along ar bitrary directions.
