Abstract
The seeds of Hernandia sonora L. (Hernandiaceae) yielded eight lignans. Fiv e of them have already been described from other species of the Hernandia g enus, namely podophyllotoxin (1), picropodophyllin (2), deoxypodophyllotoxi n (3), hernandin (4), and podophyllotoxin acetate (5). 5-Methoxypodophyllot oxin (6), 5-methoxypodophyllotoxin acetate (7), and a dibenzylbutyrolactone (8) are new. Their structures are presented in this publication.
