Abstract
A new sesquiterpene - tayunin - has been isolated and purified from powdere d leaves of Inula viscose (L.) Ait. The chemical structure was determined b y 1D and 2D NMR analysis, and IR and MS. Tayunin inhibits the growth of Mic rosporum canis at a concentration of 10 mu g/ml and Trichophyton rubrum at 50 mu g/ml (MIC).
