Novel proton conducting gel electrolytes from poly(vinylidene fluoride)-dim
ethylformamide-H3PO4 system are synthesized and characterized by impedance
spectroscopy, infra-red spectroscopy and differential scanning calorimetry.
Highly conducting (5 x 10(-4) S/cm at 20 degrees C) colorless polymeric me
mbranes are obtained in a relatively narrow component concentration range.
The gel electrolytes studied are thermally stable up to 70-120 degrees C as
shown by the DSC experiments. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights re
