L. Tatar et al., Zinc(II) complexes of bidentate Schiff base ligands containing methoxyphenyl and nitrophenyl groups, ACT CRYST C, 55, 1999, pp. 508-510
In the title compounds, bis[2-(3-nitrophenylnitrilomethylidyne)phenolato-N,
O]zinc(II), [Zn(C13H9N2O3)(2)], and bis[2-(3-methoxyphenylnitrilomethylidyn
e)phenolato-N,O]zinc(II), [Zn(C14H12NO2)(2)], the tricilinic unit cell cont
ains two inversion-related molecules, In both compounds, the Zn atom is in
a slightly distorted tetrahedral coordination involving O and N atoms of tw
o bidentate ligands, The dihedral angle defined by the two chelate rings is
98.09(4)degrees for the methoxyphenyl complex and 98.05(7)degrees for the
nitrophenyl complex. The molecules are crosslinked via intermolecular hydro
gen bonds.
