Abstract
Ambient aerosol mass size distributions measured in six Australian cities h ave been used to evaluate the performance of two PM10 and two PM2.5 size se lective inlets (SSI) under Australian conditions. Small systematic differen ces were found between the calculated SSI responses and those of an ideal s ampler. However the differences average < 10% for both PM10 and PM2.5 inlet s, which is the criterion specified in the US and Australian reference meth ods for PM10 measurement.
