Abstract
Anew hybrid multi-user receiver for CDMA systems; is proposed. By computer simulations, it is shown that in certain noise environments single user det ection might perform better than sub-optimum multi-user detection. So the h ybrid system implemented, by alternately switching between single user and multi-user detection, is able to perform better than both of them in all ea ses. The performance of multi-user detection in voice transmission is exami ned and the results of computer simulations are reported.
