Mucoepidermoid carcinoma is most commonly described in salivary glands, whe
re it accounts for approximately 8% of all salivary gland tumors. However,
like nearly all types of salivary gland tumors, mucoepidermoid carcinoma ca
n originate in intraosseous or central locations, with the mandible being t
he most frequent site. We present a case of central mucoepidermoid carcinom
a (CMEC) of the mandible and discuss its origin, staging, clinical presenta
tion, and treatment.
