A review of therapeutic, toxic and lethal drug concentration in plasma, serum and whole blood

For practical therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) as well as for diagnostic a nd therapeutic assessment of poisonings a clear review of concentrations of drugs in human plasma/serum/whole blood is needed. A compilation of more t han 650 drugs frequently involved in TDM and poisoning corresponding to the rapeutic, toxic or comatose lethal concentrations and elimination half life is given, based on recently published data as well as own experience and a number of newer drugs introduced since 1990 are considered. Possibilities and limits of reference data as well as problems in interpretation are disc ussed.
