Abstract
The specific activities and the mRNA expression levels associated with coen zyme A transferase, acetoacetate decarboxylase, and butyraldehyde dehydroge nase were elevated in hyper-solvent-producing Clostridium beijerinckii BA10 1 during the exponential growth phase. The increase in expression of the so l operon and associated enzyme activities may be responsible for enhanced s olvent production by C. beijerinckii BA101.
