Ck. Chen et Hp. Blaschek, Examination of physiological and molecular factors involved in enhanced solvent production by Clostridium beijerinckii BA101, APPL ENVIR, 65(5), 1999, pp. 2269-2271
The specific activities and the mRNA expression levels associated with coen
zyme A transferase, acetoacetate decarboxylase, and butyraldehyde dehydroge
nase were elevated in hyper-solvent-producing Clostridium beijerinckii BA10
1 during the exponential growth phase. The increase in expression of the so
l operon and associated enzyme activities may be responsible for enhanced s
olvent production by C. beijerinckii BA101.
