A modular modelling system for calculating water and energy fluxes in the s
ystem atmosphere vegetation-soil is presented in this study. In this system
different complex modules for simulating processes like evapotranspiration
, crop growth and soil water balances are integrated. These modules can be
combined to build appropriate SVAT-simulation models for different purposes
.
First validation studies indicate the general suitability of the modular mo
delling system. In next future modules for simulating soil nitrogen and car
bon dynamics as well as forest growth will be integrated in this system.
