Botulinum toxin has been successfully used to treat Frey's syndrome occurri
ng in a 31-year-old patient following superficial parotidectomy for pleomor
phic adenoma. An initial injection of 7.5 U (0.3 mi over 6 cm(2) of cheek)
resulted in 3 months' resolution of gustatory sweating and flushing and a s
econd injection 12 months' symptomatic improvement. The symptoms recurred a
fter further facial surgery.
