Relative enthalpies of melts in the system KF-K2TiF6 at mole fractions of K
2TiF6 equal to 0.25, 0.50, 0.75, and 1.0 have been determined from drop cal
orimetry measurements at the temperature 1198 K. The enthalpies of mixing a
nd excess entropies of mixing have been calculated from experimental data.
The Delta(mix)H has been found to be negative in the whole composition rang
e of the system. The exothermic effect at mixing reaches minimum of -4.9 kJ
mol(-1) at the composition around x(K2TiF6) = 0.52. The course of Delta(mi
x)H curve indicates the tendency to association of the particles in the mel
t, producing more complex structural units.
