COMPTES RENDUS DE L ACADEMIE DES SCIENCES SERIE II FASCICULE A-SCIENCES DELA TERRE ET DES PLANETES
The method consists of comparing the chemical composition of lacustrine sed
iments with the chemical composition of their source-rocks in a watershed (
the Lake Chambon watershed), using the usual method of isoelement (Al) chem
ical weathering budget. Chemical losses (P#4 to 13 %) and mean chemical ero
sion rates (E-c = 8 to 43 t.km(-2).yr(-1)) were calculated for some phases
of the Late Glacial and Holocene periods. These values show climatic and an
thropic impacts on chemical weathering, in relation to mechanical erosion.
