Abstract
The method consists of comparing the chemical composition of lacustrine sed iments with the chemical composition of their source-rocks in a watershed ( the Lake Chambon watershed), using the usual method of isoelement (Al) chem ical weathering budget. Chemical losses (P#4 to 13 %) and mean chemical ero sion rates (E-c = 8 to 43 t.km(-2).yr(-1)) were calculated for some phases of the Late Glacial and Holocene periods. These values show climatic and an thropic impacts on chemical weathering, in relation to mechanical erosion. ((C) Academie des sciences/Elsevier, Paris.)
