Abstract
Stereotactically directed needle biopsy of central nervous system lesi ons is a widely used diagnostic procedure with low morbidity and morta lity. Diagnostic tissue is obtained in most instances. As a part of th e College of American Pathologists Practical Topics in Neuropathology series, the following report summarizes the pathologist's role in the procurement, preparation, and interpretation of these important specim ens.
