Abstract
The eyes of the sandlance differ from those of other fish, both optically a nd in the kinds of movements they make. The predatory behaviour of these ti ny fish not only makes their lifestyle similar to that of a chameleon, but has led to several extraordinary examples of convergence in the visual syst em.
