A study was conducted during rainy season(kharif) 1994 to study the yield s
tability in 12 maize (Zea mays L.) genotypes compromising hybrids and compo
sites over 3 diverse environments. Composite 'Navin' followed by double top
cross hybrid 'EHF 1121' were found to be most stable with greater mean yie
ld than overall mean Two single crosses, viz 'FH 3048' and 'FH 3047' record
ed highest mean yield and more specifically adapted to favourable environme
nts.
