Abstract
Histoenzymic study was conducted for localization of phosphatases and acety lcholinesterase in corpora lutea of 22 cyclic and 10 pregnant buffaloes. Th e capsule and stroma were negative. Luteal cells were positive for alkaline phosphatase (AKPase), acid phosphatase (ACPass), adenosine triphosphatase (ATPase), glucose-6-phosphatase (G-6-Pase) and acetylcholinesterase (ACEase ). The activities were better demonstrable in developed corpora lutes and t hat of pregnancy which reflect better physiological secretory activity at t hese stages.
