Abstract
A case of abnormal bereavement is described in a man with borderline learni ng disability and Asperger's syndrome. Bereavement issues and concurrent as sessment of psychiatric illness in people with pervasive developmental diso rders are discussed. Particular reference is made to relevant psychopatholo gy and possible underlying psychodynamic mechanisms.
