Abstract
Diane Ravitch is a highly influential education policy maker and prolific w riter. She was the former Assistant Secretary of Education and Counselor to the Secretary of Education Lamar Alexander. She is now a member of the Nat ional Assessment Governing Board and Fellow of the Brookings, Manhattan, an d Progressive Policy institutes.
