Abstract
Isopregomisin, a diarylbutane-lignan, has been synthesized by a short and e fficient route starting from pyrogallol; the synthesis involves a novel sel ective demethylation reaction and the coupling reaction of the Grignard rea gent produced from an aryl bromopropane with (E)-2-tert-butyl-3-phenyloxazi ridine.
