Investigation of the roots of Duroia hirsuta from Ecuador yielded the irido
id lactone duroin (1) together with 3,7,3',5'-tetramethoxy-4'-hydroxyflavon
e (2), 3,7,3'-trimethoxy-4',5'-dihydroxyflavone (3), and 7,3',5'-trimethoxy
-3,4'-dihydroxyflavone (4) as novel constituents.
