Abstract
This review is devoted to the chemistry of dioxiranes. Reactions that resul
t in the formation of dioxiranes and the methods for their identification a
nd analysis are described. The thermal stability of these cyclic peroxides
and the reactions of oxidation of saturated, unsaturated, and heteroatom-co
ntaining organic compounds with their participation are discussed in detail
