Abstract
Six triphenyltin(IV) derivatives containing polybasic acid oxyanions have b een synthesized and characterized by i.r, Mossbauer and NMR techniques. An infinite chain, containing both mono and trans coordinated Ph3Sn residues, has been suggested for (Ph3Sn)(2)O3Se, (Ph3Sn)(2)O3PH, (Ph3Sn)(2)O3AsPh, (P h3Sn)(2)O3PCH3 and (Ph3Sn)(3)O4P and a polymeric structure with trans coord inated Ph3Sn residues and a tetracoordinating oxalate for (Ph3Sn)(2)O4C: In solution, the cleavage into monomeric species of the infinite chain found in the solid state for the selenito, methylphosphinato;and phosphato deriva tives is noteworthy.
