Abstract
A route to methyl thieno[2,3-d][1,2,3]thiadiazole carboxylates 3 as highly potent inducers of systemic acquired resistance (SAR) is reported. The cons truction of the appropriately substituted thiophene precursors is elaborate d. Cyclization towards the thiadiazole ring system was carried out using di azotation techniques.
