Abstract
Three types of controlled crosses differing in mating frequency and ma le availability were performed with Locusta migratoria specimens caugh t in natural populations. The results revealed the absence of a signif icant relationship between mating frequency and female fitness measure d as egg and embryo productivity during early reproduction, but weight -based somatic condition was significantly higher in females with high er mating frequency.
