Tentorial arteriovenous dural fistulae are uncommon. They are aggressive le
sions: of all intracranial dural fistulae they are the most likely to prese
nt with haemorrhage. Treatment options include surgical excision or interru
ption of leptomeningeal draining veins and arterial embolisation in isolati
on or in combination with surgery. There has been one case report of treatm
ent by percutaneous transvenous coil embolisation. We describe successful t
ransvenous coil embolisation of two tentorial dural fistulae presenting wit
h subarachnoid haemorrhage.
