Abstract
Electron transport properties of monocrystalline heteroepitaxial metallic s tructures have been found tolgive rise to new phenomena such as geometric a nd negative resistance effects, quenching Hall effect, ''diode effects", an d quantum size effects for mesoscopic metallic conductors that are specific for surface dominated electron transport. These new structures possess the properties that are unusual for previously studied metallic low-dimensiona l structures, and can be considered as a novel class of metallic conductors.
