Abstract
Simple estimations for the overall conductivity and elastic properties of some isotropic locally-ordered composites are deduced from two dif ferent variational approaches. The estimations based on limited inform ation about microgeometry of the composites lie inside the Hashin-Shtr ikman bounds over the whole range of parameters.
