Abstract
Two forms of Asparagus asparagoides (L.) Wight are recorded from southern A frica, a widespread form, referred to as bridal creeper, which also occurs as an invasive weed in Australia, and a form restricted to the winter-rainf all region of the Western Cape, referred to as the south-western Cape form. The precise distribution, habitat associations and phenology of bridal cre eper in southern Africa are described.
