Abstract
Cis-syn and cis-anti-3,4-diaminocyclopentanols have been synthesized from c yclopentadiene in eight steps. The key transformations involved constructio n of benzyl ether protected cis-diazidocyclopentanols, and sequential reduc tion and hydrogenolysis to the unprotected diaminocyclopentanols.
