Abstract
Mixed N-(salicylidene)-(o)under-bar-mercaptoaniline alkyldithiocarbonate de rivatives of antimony(III) have been synthesized by substitution reactions of chlorobis[N-(salicylidene)-(o)-under-bar-mercaptoaniline]antimony(III), Sb[SC6H4N=C(H)C6H4OH](2)Cl. dichloro[N-(salicylidene)-(o)under-bar-mercapto aniline]antimony(III), Sb[SC6H4N=C(H)C6H4O]Cl-2 and monochloro[N-(salicylid ene)-(o)under-bar-mercaptoaniline]antimony(III), Sb[SC6H4N=C(H)C6H4O]Cl wit h potassium alkyl xanthates in benzene/carbon disulfide in 1:1, 1:2 and 1:1 molar ratios, respectively. The yellow or orange crystalline complexes hav e been characterized by elemental analyses, melting points, molecular weigh t determinations as well as IR and NMR (H-1 and C-13) spectroscopy.
