Abstract
As one of a handful of tools capable of giving chemical and structural info rmation on working catalysts at reaction conditions, Mossbauer spectroscopy is in an elite group of in situ characterization methods. This focus on Fe -57 applications reviews the method and discusses phase identification and transformation kinetics, particle size measurements, and the self assembly of bimetallic systems to catalyze methanol synthesis.
