While the use of narcotic drugs is recurrent in most european countries, st
imulating drugs are used more and more often. The increasing popularity of
Ecstasy and Designer-Drugs is at the centre of this trend. Based on present
research findings at the intersection of Clinical Psychology, Psychiatry a
nd the Social Sciences we elaborate on modifying factors that influence the
patterns of use leading to higher or loa er health risks. We draw conseque
nces for preventative actions from this.
