Several studies have proven the indicative and evaluative value of the perc
eption of locus of control with regard to psychotherapy outcome. A question
naire was constructed in order to assess locus of control (LOC) especially
during inpatient treatment in adolescent psychiatry. The study is based on
data of 103 subjects who completed pre-measures of generalized locus of con
trol, personality, health-related LOC as well as action orientation versus
state orientation. Results show a good construct-, convergent and discrimin
ant validity. Relationships between internal/external LOC and diagnoses hav
e not been found; but sex differences were recognized. With some restrictio
ns, relevance of the descripted questionnaire for evaluation of inpatient p
sychotherapeutic treatment can be affirmed.
