Abstract
An intensive program to study the production, decay properties, and nuclear structure of isotopes of heavy elements is underway at the Department of P hysics, University of Jyvaskyla, Finland (JYFL). The main tools used in the se studies are the gas-filled recoil separator RITU and various germanium d etector arrays. Illustrative examples from both decay and in-beam studies w ill be presented.
