Abstract
Ground-state rotational energies of heavy and superheavy nuclei are calcula ted in the cranking approximation. Even-even nuclei with proton number Z = 94 - 114 and neutron number N = 146 - 168 are considered. The results are i nterpreted in terms of the shell structure of these nuclei.
