Abstract
Using the selfconsistent semiclassical Extended Thomas-Fermi (ETF) method u p to 4(th) order in connection with Skyrme forces it is demonstrated that t he neutron and proton average potentials obtained using the semiclassical f unctionals tau((ETF))[rho] and (J) over right arrow((ETF))[rho] reproduce t he corresponding Hartree-Fock fields extremely well, except for shell oscil lations in the nuclear center.
