P. Cordier et al., CHARACTERIZATION OF CRYSTAL DEFECTS IN QUARTZ BY LARGE-ANGLE CONVERGENT-BEAM ELECTRON-DIFFRACTION, Philosophical magazine. A. Physics of condensed matter. Defects and mechanical properties, 72(5), 1995, pp. 1421-1430
It is shown that large-angle convergent-beam electron diffraction can
be used successfully to characterize crystal defects in a radiation-se
nsitive material such as quartz. The cases of perfect 1/3[<2(11)over b
ar 0>] dislocations, partial 1/6[<2(11)over bar 3>] dislocations and D
auphine twin boundaries are considered successively. The identificatio
n of 1/6[<2(11)over bar 3>] dislocations represents the first analysis
of partial dislocations in quartz.
