F. Gonella et al., Application of electron paramagnetic resonance to the study of Cu2+ ions in Cu-Na ion-exchanged glasses, APPL PHYS A, 68(5), 1999, pp. 539-546
The copper ion-exchange process in two different silicate glasses is experi
mentally studied by means of electron paramagnetic resonance analysis. Diff
erences in the environment of divalent copper ions are found depending on t
he substrate. The Cu2+ concentration in-depth profile is determined and com
pared to the total copper diffusion profile as determined from secondary io
n mass spectrometry.
