A new linelist of H2O transition frequencies and intensities is presen
ted. This list greatly improves the accuracy of the energy levels and
the transition frequencies over existing hot water linelists. Although
it does not cover many high vibrational states of the molecule, it do
es include all the rotational levels up to J=38. Comparisons with seve
ral sets of data (ab initio and experimental) are shown. The accuracy
of the linelist should be enough for it to be used to assign laborator
y line transitions at high temperature, and to provide water transitio
ns that could be observed in other hot molecular environments includin
g magnetohydrodynamic shocks, circumstellar outflows and active galact
ic nuclei.
