Abstract
The aim of this work is to study the mechanism of the reaction of hydr oxyl radicals with simple aliphatic acids (acetic, glycolic, glyoxylic and oxalic acids; see Table 1) in aqueous solution. The decomposition of organic acids by hydroxyl radicals has been studied using the phot olysis of hydrogen peroxide and the ozone/hydrogen peroxide system. (C ) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
