Abstract
This article discusses the analysis behind new residential network greenfie ld planning policies and standards as the network planning part of BT's 199 7 Greenfield Site Initiative (GSI). The analysis included both new design i deas and the application of appropriate new technology. Trials confirmed a 10% saving in on-site network-provision costs attributed to network design alone.
