The catalysts prepared by mixing impregnation of cobalt (II) nitrate and co
balt (II) acetate displayed high activity. X-ray diffraction indicated that
highly dispersed cobalt metal was the main active site on the catalyst pre
pared by mixing impregnation method. The metal reduced from cobalt nitrate
promoted the reduction of Co2+ to metallic state in cobalt acetate by H-2 s
pillover mechanism during catalyst reduction process.
