Abstract
Although ultrasound-assisted lipoplasty (UAL) has many similarities to conv entional Liposuction, it is a new technology, and it is important that not only operating room (OR) staff but also office personnel be familiar with t he technique, the machinery, and the important safety considerations for ap propriate implementation of UAL. UAL is a safe procedure when performed pro perly. The better the OR personnel understand the necessary safeguards and the reasons for them, the better they can function with the surgeon as a te am to provide a system of double checking and vigilance and maintain an eff icient environment with a perfect safety record.
