Abstract
A novel method for the support of real time VBR traffic over satellite link s is proposed. It is based on the prediction of traffic using exponential w eighted moving average (EWMA) techniques. Computer simulations show that th e proposed method achieves better utilisation of resources in both the grou nd and space segments, while requiring minimal computational complexity.
